ReachOut Jail & Prison ministry is an opportunity for volunteers to bring encouragement, hope and the good news to those who are incarcerated.  This ministry is comprised of the PenPal Ministry and Jail Ministry. If you would like to learn more, please contact

Our Jail Ministry provides the opportunity to reach out to men and women in crisis due to their recent arrest and incarceration as they await sentencing. At this low point in their lives, jail inmates are ripe for the message of God’s unconditional love and forgiveness and the offer of salvation and eternal hope available through Christ.

This is a team of men and women where 2 or 3 members visit the Vista Detention Facility every week to provide worship and a Bible study to those men or women who choose to attend.

Be on the front lines of reaching the broken. “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38).

If it is the desire of your heart to be sent out into this local mission field at the Vista County Jail, please consider joining the Jail Ministry. For more information please contact the front office at (858) 613-7800 or email Nick Aneshansley at

This ministry creates a safe and anonymous way to encourage and minister to those in the prison. The focus of this ministry is to bring hope via letters to the inmates in prison.  Through ReachOut PenPal Ministry you have the opportunity to do mission work right from your home & bring hope to a captive audience that is willing to hear from the outside world and who are ready to hear about a savior that can give them hope.  Many of them have not heard from their family & loved ones in a very long time.  All correspondence is done through the church.  Your name and address is kept anonymous from the inmates to protect you.
