Wes Bentley went to the Horizon school of Evangelism, sensing God had a call on his life to reach the lost. In 1996, after serving five years in the federal youth prisons in Russia, God asked Wes to go into war torn Southern Sudan. Wes worked for three years serving in a Christian organization that provided medicine, water, and food, and preached at every opportunity.
Wes met Vicky in 1998 while she was serving in Sudan on a medical team. Together Wes and Vicky established Far Reaching Ministries and went to Africa to establish their Bible College for chaplains and an orphanage. Vicky began discipling the women in Sudan. Today over 700 women are part of the "Rabuna Fi" (which means "God is here" in Arabic); These women are taught through the Word daily, receive skills training (helping them with income generating activities), and are in a full literacy program. In 2002, Wes and Vicky were married
In 2004 God blessed them with a Cessna Grand Caravan airplane and then they also established FRM Aviation.
From those humble beginnings, FRM has spread from Sudan to Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, The Congo, Indonesia, China, and all the way back to Russia. FRM's battle cry is "Christ for a Continent." They believe that through discipleship, church planting, and being willing to go anywhere God calls them, they can train up nationals to win the Dark Continent.
