Since 2004 Rita has been serving the Lord as a missionary in East Africa. In 2009 she was called to service as a long-term missionary in Uganda, Africa. In 2010 Rita was blessed to start Faith Hope Love Missions organization. She also severed as a Regional Volunteer Trainer/Coordinator with Scripture Union (SU) of Uganda from 2010 until early 2013.
In March of 2012, Rita married Rogers Bulegeya, a Ugandan national. With their marriage she became a pastor’s wife. She aids their church plant, The Tabernacle Church-Bulayi, in children’s ministry and church development.
Since serving in Masaka, Rita has seen the direct need for orphaned and vulnerable youth to have a stable home and family structure. At the end of 2010, she was able to establish a Community Based Organization (CBO) within the District of Masaka. The CBO is called Faith Hope Love Missions (FHLM). Currently FHLM has the Spread Their Wings Project that assists youth with educational school fees & requirements.
With the SOAR Project the organization currently assists three vulnerable youth with meals, clothing, housing, medical care, counseling, discipleship and weekly Bible Studies. FHLM is also reaching out to the community of Masaka with evangelism, outreach projects, and assistance to local village Woman’s Groups with small business projects and training.
Rita is excited to see how FHLM has grown and looks forward to what God will do in the coming years with the organization.
